TDP MLA Bonda Uma Snubbed At Kanaka Durga Temple

Vijayawada: TDP MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao found himself in the news, yet again and for the wrong reasons. This time around it was the holy Kanaka Durgamma temple at Indrakiladri which turned into the eye of the storm.

Bonda Uma turned the traditional Navaratri offering of "pattu vastrams" by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to the Kanaka Durgamma temple here into a controversy. As per official protocol, AEO of TTD, Sailu, brought the traditional clothes to be offered to the Goddess here. The TTD AEO has accordingly extended an official welcome as per established procedures. He was incidentally, accompanied by the local TDP MLA, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, who is said to have felt slighted that he was not accorded a similar welcome, though he is a TTD board member. He reportedly left in a huff.

This is said to have led to his followers creating a commotion at the Kanaka Durgamma temple and getting into a war of words with the Kanaka Durga Temple Trust authorities who tried to put things in perspective. They clarified that they were simply following protocol as per the instructions received from TTD and had only informed the MLA as required.
