HC Notice To AP Govt Over SC/ST Commission Chairman Appointment

Hyderabad: The High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana directed the issue of notices to the Andhra Pradesh government over the appointment of Karem Sivaji as the chairman of the SC/ST Commission. A lawyer, Hariprasad had approached the High Court seeking judicial intervention on the appointment, which he contended, was struck down by the court in the past. In his petition, advocate Hariprasad stated that the appointment of Sivaji again amounted to contempt of court.

The High Court sought the responses of the state government on this plea and asked for notices to be issued in this respect.The court also directed that the relevant records be placed before it. Further, the court directed Karem Sivaji to appear before the court on October 31.
