Trouble Brews In Tadipatri, Section 144 Imposed

The trouble which erupted in Tadipatri during the celebrations of Vinayaka Chaturthi has seen no signs of abating.

Anantapur: The trouble which erupted in Tadipatri during the celebrations of Vinayaka Chaturthi has seen no signs of abating. Over the last two days, there have been skirmishes between the devotees of Prabodananda Swamy and the followers of JC Diwakar Reddy.

The police have initiated Section 144 and postponed the Vinayaka immersion programme which was scheduled for today. In all one person was killed and more than 15 members injured in the fight.

JC Diwakar Reddy protested in front of Tadipatri police station and the police had to warn his followers to disperse. It is learnt that the Anantapur Lok Sabha MP got into a heated argument with Tadipatri DSP Vijaykumar. Police interacted with authorities of Prabodananda Ashram and appealed to them to speak to their devotees. Police forces were deployed around the ashram to prevent any untoward incidents.
