Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party Farmers Division president MVS Nagi Reddy said that eight districts in Andhra Pardesh were plagued by severe drought conditions. Speaking to media here today, the rainfall in the eight districts were much below normal. He said it was unfortunate that whenever TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was Chief Minister, the state would reel under severe drought.

Nagi Reddy said that there has been no rains in Rayalaseema, Nellore and Prakasam districts. Chandrababu was betraying the state in not announcing drought affected mandals. He said above all, the TDP government was sharing wrong information with the Central government. He demanded that the state government initiate action so that the drought-affected mandals would cope with it.

The leader of farmers said that in the name of rain guns, Chandrababu government was cheating people. He said that the water from Pattiseema project was not enough for Krishna delta. But Chandrababu was making false promises that water from Pattiseema would be supplied to Rayalaseema. He suggested that the TDP government present the true facts to people.

He further said that without completing the Polavaram project, the TDP government misusing the funds. Rayalaseema should be declared a drought affected region and a special package should be announced for the region's development, he added.
