YS Jagan Statements On Kapu Twisted: Ambati Rambabu
Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's statements on kapu reservation have been distorted by few people with vested interests.
Speaking to media here today, he clarified that their party Chief was not against kapu reservations, what YS Jagan said was that the kapu reservations was not in the purview of the state government.
Amabati said there was no looking back once YS Jagan promised and the kapu reservations would be taken forward. He said it was sad to hear Mudragada Padmanabham speaking against YSRCP and questioned what had Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu done after proclaiming that he would have kapu community under BCs. "The TDP had promised to establish a BC commission and said that kapu community would be brought under BCs within six months of coming to power. Why hasn't Chandrababu government done it?" he asked.
The YSRCP spokesperson pointed out that till date the kapu reservations issue was pending. Chandrababu was reminded of the issue only after Mudragada protested demanding Kapu reservations. He said without forming a BC commission, the kapu reservation was placed in assembly in a haste and the resolution was forwarded to the Centre. He reminded that BC commission chairman had not given any report and no one had the authority to give separate reports and this was clarified by the chairman.
He said the state government had not disbursed funds to kapu community, though it had money at its disposal. He recalled when Mudragada was on an indefinite hunger strike, the police broke open Mudragada's house door and took his family members to jail, only YS Jagan stood by them. He said he was implicated for the Tuni incident by Mudragada, Botsa Satyanarayana and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. He reminded that he was also part of the fight for kapu reservations under the leadership of Dasari Narayana Rao.
He further said YSRCP was the only party which would support fight for kapu reservations. Chandrababu has no moral standing to speak about this issue, he added.
