Hyderabad: BJP leader and former Union minister Purandeswari said that yesterday's no-trust debate had exposed the true colors of Andhra Pradesh leaders who had betrayed the state.

Reacting to the no-trust vote in Parliament on Friday, she spoke to media here today and said that TDP had pledged the self-esteem of Telugu people by joining hands with Congress party during the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha. She pointed out that TDP was formed by NTR to oppose Congress.

Purandeswari mentioned to the press persons that Congress President Rahul Gandhi did not talk about AP in his speech. Congress should be blamed for the present situation in the state. Even the AP Chief Minister is party to the bifurcation of the state, she observed. She reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had made a promise in the Parliament to give whatever AP wanted.

The BJP leader said that the TDP had lied about BJP in the parliament. Dugarajupatnam was delayed because of the state's apathy while Kadapa steel plant was neglected by the AP government's lack of interest, she said. She clarified that the central government would certainly give Railway zone for Visakhapatnam and that it would not compromise on state's development. She said that people were observing Chandrababu's ways of betrayal and added that BJP would go alone in the elections.

Later, Visakhapatnam BJP MP Hari Babu said that Rajnath Singh's comments on Chandrababu were his personal views and not that of the party. She confirmed that Visakhapatnam would definitely be allotted a railway zone. The Central government had requested the state to show the land for Dugarajupatnam port, she said and added that the Centre was ready to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle.
