Petition Demanding Telecast Of Mahasamprokshanam On TV
Hyderabad: A High Court lawyer has filed a petition demanding Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) to videograph and telecast the complete activity of Mahasamprokshanam in Tirumala Lord Venkateshwara temple from August 9 to 17. He filed the petition on Thursday and mentioned in the petition that HC should give necessary orders on this matter. The petitioner had earlier filed a petition on works taken up at the temple kitchen.
The HC lawyer had mentioned that the new petition on Mahasamprokshanam was supplement to the earlier petition. HC bench comprising of Justice T Radhakrishnan and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan had admitted the supplementary petition. The HC bench questioned video recording of the proceedings because each temple follows its own system and the court said it could not interfere in traditional and religious programmes. Moreover, the question of deities was involved in this programme and so HC refrained from any orders on the petition. Final decision on the petition would be given by the bench on July 24.
