VIJAYAWADA: Leader of YSR Congress Party in Loksabha PV Mithun Reddy said Andhra Pradesh has set an example for the entire country by adopting best practises for the effective implementation of the lockdown in the state.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the Rajampet MP said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is receiving accolades from all the states for the host of effective measures to control the spread of coronavirus. Mithun Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh ranks first in the country in conducting most number of rapid tests for COVID-19. Now, with the announcement made by the ICMR, the entire nation and national media are congratulating the Chief Minister for this achievement during the pandemic, he said.
''Unfortunately, during this difficult period, the leader of the Opposition and TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu is indulging in cheap politics which, at this critical juncture, is inappropriate, '' he stated. Instead of giving suggestions, he is criticising the state government. It seems, Chandrababu is unable to digest the fact that CM YS Jagan is being hailed by the country,” he said.
"Chandrababu is very upset because he could not make his son the chief minister and out of this frustration he is resorting to such irresponsible criticism,'' he remarked.
The YSRCP MP said that YS Jagan is the first chief minister in the country to extend a helping hand to farmers during the current pandemic crisis. “The AP government has appealed to the Centre for help. We have appealed to the central government to relax the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) rules and provide relief to the industries. The state government has also requested for added infrastructure support for the medical industry which are into the manufacturing of equipment and creation of resources to handle the COVID-19 situation in the State,” he said.
He hoped that the Centre would come forward to provide relief to the state after a video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday
