YSR Congress Party and Telugu Desam Party are gearing up for a major showdown after normalcy was disrupted in the Palnadu region of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.

Additional police personnel have been rushed to the region and security beefed up in the area to prevent untoward incidents.

TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu has accused YSRCP of attacks on his partymen while YSRCP senior party spokesperson has dubbed the entire episode a false propaganda. Ambati said that Chandrababu was attempting to get undue mileage by projecting to people that there was political violence Palnadu which really did not exist.

Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in the region with prohibitory orders in place to prevent people from holding public meetings or rallies, according to DGP Gautam Sawang. The Andhra Pradesh Home Minister has called the entire TDP exercise of creating unnecessary animosity among people and dubbed families taking shelter in the camp paid artistes.

The police has put the region on high alert in the wake of Chalo Atmakur. There is heavy police bandobast in railway stations and bus stands of Guntur.

There are police pickets are put in place Guntur while vehicle checks are being done in the region. Guntur and Prakasam districts, like Gurajala and Markapur are part of the Palnadu region.
