Amaravati: In clarification about the assets shared between Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that the Andhra Pradesh assets were not given to Telangana and only the buildings that were in Telangana were distributed. Refuting the AP Leader of the Opposition Chandrababu Naidu's claims he said that the properties would remain with the State until 2024, he said in the Assembly on Thursday.

At the invitation of Telangana Chief Minister (CM) K Chandrasekhara Rao , AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy along with key cabinet ministers and officials went and discussed issues related to the State Reorganization Bill. According to the State Reorganization Act, AP will own the buildings in Hyderabad until 2024, and then they will be handed over to Telangana. Even when there was 10 years, time why did Chandrababu Naidu hurry to Amaravati, he questioned.

Was it not true that Chandrababu fled to Amaravati after trying to buy-out an MLA from the other state and after he was caught in the Vote-for-note scam, Buggana questioned. With the hasty arrival of Chandrababu along with the government employees, there was a chaotic situation as they were separated from their families, which caused a lot of inconvenience and suffering.

After his arrival in Amaravati Chandrababu claims to say that he had to leave the buildings there (Hyderabad) which was incorrect. Municipal bills, electricity and water bills have to be paid for four years unnecessarily and we won't be able to use the properties for another five years, so what is the whole point in retaining them, he asked. Which is why we have taken the decision in handing over the assets now, even though we could give them in 2024, he clarified.

The whole intention behind this was to develop a harmonious relation between the states and there is also the issue of distribution water and funds between the states, which has to be addressed, he said. We had also discussed the issues mentioned in the 9th and 10th Schedules which is related to Water and Funds distribution between the two states in the Chief Ministers Conference, he said.

When Chandrababu openly stated that he was ready for an alliance with TRS for his political motives why is he objecting when the State government is trying to protect the State's interest, especially when it relates the to the equal distribution of the Krishna and Godavari river waters between the States, he questioned.

Deriding Chandrababu's comments, that instead of appreciating the efforts of the AP Government when they were trying to work together in solidarity for developing the state, he was criticising their efforts.
