AP Cabinet Approves Several Key Bills In Line With YS Jagan’s Navaratnalu

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meet was held on Thursday under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to clear important bills pertaining to the welfare of the State.

These bills were promulgated keeping in mind the promises made earlier by the Chief Minister during his elections campaign as part of the Manifesto and the Navaratnalu which will have a far-reaching effect.

- The AP Cabinet has approved a bill that allows the tenant farmers to cultivate lands based on agreements with the landowners.

-The Cabinet has given the nod to the draft bill, which aimed at providing permanent rights to land owners and also ensure that no can tamper with the land records in future.

The Cabinet also approved a bill to bring changes to the Land Title Act to reduce land disputes arising from the existing Registration System.

The government also gave its nod to prepare a bill to implement a complete ban on alcohol. This will also include the government to take over the operations of liquor shops across the state.

-The Cabinet approved the rate for electricity to Aqua farmers at Rs 1.50 per unit

- Appointment of special officers in local bodies

- Approval to allot 149 acres of land for to APIIC for an Electronics park at Vikruthamala village under Yerpedu Mandal in Chittoor district.

-Free power to ST colonies and Thandas and a budget allocation of Rs 81.11 crore has been approved.

-Approval to hike the salaries of Anganwadi Workers to Rs 11,500 and Rs 7,000 for Mini Anganwadi Workers and Rs 7,000 for Anganwadi Helpers which will be payable from July.

-The Cabinet approved the Village Secretariats and Village Volunteers system, which is expected to bring in revolutionary changes in the administration process at the ground level.

The Cabinet has given approval for the appointment of one Village Volunteer for every 50 houses in the village. The volunteers will be paid Rs 5,000 per month by the Panchayathi Raj department.

-The Cabinet has approved a draft bill aimed at bringing changes in the laws that guide the functioning of Endowments department. A provision to provide 50 percent reservations to SCs, STs and BCs in nominated posts in the temple boards is mooted.
