Amaravati: Puncturing the tall claims made by former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu that he had brought in crores of foreign investment to Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP general secretary Vijayasai Reddy said the former's efforts did not result in intended success.

Taking to Twitter, Reddy said that while Chandrababu had boasted about going around 38 countries during his tenure as chief minister, the visits did not bring few hundreds of crores as investment to AP. Besides, the former chief minister banding out lies that his government had helped five lakh youth get jobs.

"Chandrababu travelled to 38 countries in the name of investments. Rs 39 crore were spent on them. When asked what you brought in return, he claims to have brought agreements to the worth of Rs 16 lakh crore. In reality, not even Rs 100 crore investments came. He is still going about lying that they had provided five lakh jobs," Reddy wrote on the microblogging site.

Earlier in the day, during Assembly session, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that Chandrababu had travelled 38 times over the past five years and that no other state chief minister had travelled so many times. He scoffed that the CM had looted public money in the in the name of foreign tours.
