Amaravati: Ever since YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took charge as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh many corporate companies are seen queuing up to meet him at Amaravati. Recently two public sector companies have come forward to set up a plants in AP. NTPC, the country's largest electric power distribution company, is setting up a new power plant. A 25 MW Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) power plant will be set up by NTPC at Visakhapatnam (Simhadri). It is reported that the company has given an order of Rs 100 Crore to BHEL.

BHEL said the solar power plant would be installed on the water reservoir of the Simhadri Thermal Power Plant for NTPC. As per the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) system it has received the order to set up a 25 MW SPV power plant at Simhadri. Earlier, we had built a 100 MW SPV plant at Ramagundam in Telangana,” BHEL said.

In another news the country's largest cement manufacturer, UltraTech Cement, is going to set up a factory in Andhra Pradesh. The project which is worth Rs 2,500 crore will be set up as an integrated cement plant near Petnikota village in Kurnool district.

In another development , POSCO (formerly Pohang Iron and Steel Company), world's fifth largest steel manufacturer from South Korea, has already met CM YS Jagan and is in talks with him. The company's CEO, Bong Gill Ho had previously met with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the CM's camp office and he said that they are ready to set up a steel plant in the state.
