AP Businessmen Make A Beeline To BJP Fearing Tax Raids

Amaravati: Fearing Income Tax raids, there is a beeline of several business in the state to the BJP. The trend started with business tycoon-turned-politician Rajya Sabha members Sujana Chowdary and CM Ramesh who joined the BJP last month.

The BJP state committee is also focusing on membership drive that will continue till August end. The party says that it will induct more members of the business community and is also trying to emerge as the main opposition in the state.

"We are not luring anybody to join the BJP, they are coming. We have no intention to attract businessmen of any party. No doubt, we are in an attempt to strengthen our party in the state,” former BJP floor leader in the AP assembly, P Vishnu Kumar Raju was quoted saying by a leading daily.

Meanwhile, in the presence of BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana, some businessmen also joined the BJP, namely the MD of Vizag Profiles and the president of Tours and Travels Association.

Businessman N Eshwara Rao, who is a close aide of AP TDP president Kala Venkata Rao also joined the BJP in Srikakulam.
