Vijayawada: CRDA chairman Alla Ramakrishna Reddy issued an ultimatum to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to vacate his current Lingamaneni residence immediately or face demolition of the illegal building.

Speaking to press persons here on Sunday, Reddy said Chandrababu should respond to the notices served on his house at least now, which he was evading for some time. He said there was no question of letting go of illegal structures on the embankment of Krishna river as authorities concerned would certainly raze them down. Action would be initiated against those officials who gave permits illegally, he warned.

In the same breath, he added that Lingamaneni was currently doing double speak at the behest of Chandrababu. Lingamaneni claimed that the particular house was given away to State government earlier, and now making a volte face claiming that the house belonged to him and had all necessary permits.

Reddy also recalled that Chandrababu had, in fact, on the floor of the Assembly on March 6, 2016 announced that house belonged to the State government. "It that's the case, then Chandrababu doesn't have the basic common sense to vacate the house after stepping down as chief minister. It is Chandrababu who is threatening Lingamaneni to speak in different ways," he slammed.
