Samarlakota, Peddapuram: Former deputy Chief Minister in the TDP government and the current Peddapuram MLA, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, seems to have landed in a soup over the affidavit he submitted to the election commission at the time of assembly polls. YSRCP Peddapuram candidate, Thota Vani revealed this to the media on Saturday. She pointed out that in his affidavit, in column 5 of form-26, in response to the question whether there were any criminal cases against the candidate, the TDP contestant replied incorrectly that there were none against him.

Thota Vani pointed out that defying Section 144 near Obulapuram, the current TDP MLA had then destroyed furniture in the Office of Mines. Hi shoved policemen and used abusive language against them. The police registered a case against Chinarajappa and 20 others on July 21, 2007, she added. Thota Vani revealed that Chinarajappa was the fifteenth Accused in the case and that the Rayadurg court had issued an arrest warrant against him. Later, the case was transferred to a special court in Vijayawada for MLAs, MPs and MLCs.

Thota Vani further pointed out that Chinarajappa was getting a pension as MLC in 2014 and that while he was claiming remuneration at the time of 2019 elections as Deputy Chief Minister and home Minister, he wrongly stated in his affidavit that he was dependent purely on agriculture. This declaration also amounted to concealing facts from the election commission, she pointed out.

The YSR Congress party candidate from Peddapuram stated that she had submitted these facts regarding TDP MLA, Chinarajappa to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with evidence substantiating her statements. Thota Vani predicted that within six months Chinarajappa would be disqualified and that she would become Peddapuram MLA with a resounding majority.
