New Delhi: In wake of mass resignations by Congress leaders across the country, Andhra Pradesh Congress President Raghuveera Reddy clarified that he had resigned on May 19, however, it was yet to be accepted by the party high command.

Speaking to press persons here on Wednesday, he said he had tendered his resignation even before the AP Assembly election results were declared. Despite his repeated requests to the party top leadership, his resignation is neither accepted nor declined. However, he made it clear that he would remain with the Congress party and would continue.

Meanwhile post the leadership crisis in the Congress after their dismal performance in the Lok Sabha elections recently, AICC former chief Rahul Gandhi had reiterated his stance that the Party should decide on the new president quickly without further delay. He said: " I'm nowhere in this process. I have already submitted my resignation and I am no longer the party president. CWC should convene a meeting at the earliest and decide". After this several Congress party leaders across the country have offered to resign from their posts.
