Amaravati:  The State government led by Advocate General Subramaniam Sreeram presented to the High Court that former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is being provided security with 74 personnel as against the mandated 58 for an Opposition leader.

Chandrababu Naidu moved the High Court alleging that security to him and his family was downgraded. The court heard the arguments from both sides.

Consul for Chandrababu requested for the continuance of Z-Plus category security cover to his client. He alleged that security was downgraded for Chandrababu and his family members owing to political reasons. As Opposition leader YS Jagan was provided with a security cover that had 26 personnel, he presented before the court.

The High Court ordered the State government to file an affidavit detailing the security provided to Chandrababu. The next hearing in the case is deferred to July 9.
