Amaravathi: A three-member team comprising senior TDP legislators – Payyavula Keshav, Achchenaidu, and Ganta Srinivasa Rao – will call on chief minister-designate YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his residence in Tadepalli on Thursday to congratulate and extend greetings from TDP and its chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

After YS Jagan’s phone call to Chandrababu inviting the latter to attend his swearing-in, the TDP legislative party went into a huddle to decide whether Chandrababu should attend the event. It is learnt that although Chandrababu had evinced interest in attending the event, party senior leaders are said to have requested him not to go.

They believed to have said since the event is being held in an outside venue, instead of Raj Bhavan, it would not be wise to attend as it could come across as YSR Congress party event than a government function.

After hearing out the views of senior leaders, Chandrababu is said to have changed his mind. As a result, the three-member TDP team led by Payyavula Keshav will call on YS Jagan and hand in a congratulatory message from Chandrababu.
