Who is YS Jagan Mohan Reddy?: Well, a decade ago, the name was almost unknown to the common man. Today, YS Jagan is a household name in every nook and corner of Andhra Pradesh. Thanks to his 14-month-long walkathon Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YS Jagan made a place for himself in the hearts of every single man in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh election results are testimony to the love and adulation the people's leader enjoys. His party YSRCP is inching towards a landslide win in Andhra Pradesh. To win with a thumping majority against a seasoned politician like Chandrababu Naidu who is known to control a majority of media houses not to mention his money power, is no mean feat. However, YS Jagan is a man of determination.

After his party lost to TDP with a negligible margin in 2014, the YSRCP supremo vowed to come back. He did and how! The son of late chief minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, YS Jagan decided to walk in the footsteps of his father. It may be recalled that Dr YSR walked the length and breadth of the state to get a first hand account of people's problems. YS Jagan followed his footprints and in doing so he won the trust of people of Andhra Pradesh.

In YS Jagan, people saw a mirror image of his father and at once realised that here was a man who would put an end to all their misery. In fact the YSRCP chief decided to create his manifesto based on the feedback he got from people. YS Jagan learnt that his father's flagship schemes including the healthcare initiative Arogyasri and Fee reimbursement were diluted under the ruling TDP to benefit the chief minister's cronies. Also, he saw that the state had been deprived of a lot of benefits after bifurcation as Special Category Status had been denied to the residuary state. Soon after his party's thumping victory, YS Jagan said just one thing—that his main agenda was to achieve Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh to ensure AP people enjoyed its privileges.

YS Jagan is all set to soon take oath as the new chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Expectations and hopes among the people of Andhra Pradesh have skyrocketed. After being betrayed by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, people see YS Jagan as a hope to usher in Rajanna Rajyam, the golden rule of YSR during which time there was prosperity. And YS Jagan has promised to make the coming days even better for AP people.
