Amaravathi: YSR Congress Party senior leader C. Ramachandraiah accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of bungling the finances of the State government so much so that it is becoming increasingly difficult for it to pay the salaries of government employees.

Speaking to press persons here on Sunday, Ramachandraiah alleged that Chandrababu Naidu saw no difference between his personal assets and income and that of the State exchequer. The entire administration worked towards benefiting the contractors illegally. As a result the State government debt has touched a whopping Rs 2 lakh crore, he alleged.

The TDP government completely ignored the norms laid out the Centre in borrowing money from external agencies. “He (Chandrababu Naidu) doesn’t know why the State government had to borrow so much of money from outside. All he did being in the government is to increase his personal wealth at the cost of public exchequer. The mess that he has created will certainly have a bearing on the upcoming government,” he added.

On the ongoing rift between the Chief Secretary L.V. Subramanyam and the TDP government, he asked why can’t the former hold review meetings on matters to the State government finances and why was the TDP making an issue of it. The TDP is perturbed that the Chief Secretary might expose the corruption and failings of the TDP leadership in the process of reviewing the Finance department, he said.

Hailing the Supreme Court decision to vacate the stay in cases depending for more than six months, he said the move had certainly unnerved Chandrababu Naidu, who got a stay order from the High Court in 2005 disproportionate assets case that accuses the latter of amassing wealth by illegal means.

He exuded confidence that the YSR Congress will ascend to power after May 23, and the new government would definitely probe into corruption charges against Chandrababu Naidu.
