CBI Raids Ailing MP SPY Reddy’s House In Nandyal

Nandyal: The home of Nandyal Jana Sena Party MP candidate SPY Reddy's house and sitting MP was raided by the CBI on Saturday.The raids continued till late in the night and documents pertaining to the business owned by him were seized. It is reported that he had availed loans amounting to Rs 500 Crore from numerous banks including State Bank of India and Syndicate Bank.The loans taken were as part of his expnaison plans for the Nandi Group of Industries which manufactures PVC pipes (Nandi Pipe brand). Apparently the raids were conducted due to the alleged default of the loans by the company.

It is reported that SPY Reddy was in Hyderabad undergoing medical treatment and the only person at his Nandyal residence was his son-in-law S Sridhar Reddy.

On April 9, SPY Reddy was rushed to hospital in Hyderabad due to a critical lung infection which he had reportedly contracted during his campaign. Sources say he contracted the infection during the campaign. The 68-year-old MP won the elections for three terms in the years 2004, 2009 and 2014.He is contesting for the fourth time under the Jana Sena Party ticket.
