Case Filed Against Bonda Uma And Sons For Election Violence In Vijaywada

Vijayawada: A case has been registered under the Ajith Nagar Police limits in Vijayawada against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Vijayawada Central candidate Bonda Uma Mahesheshwara Rao and his sons Bonda Siddharth and Bonda Ravi Teja, for their unruly behaviour during an election campaign rally held in Vijayawada on April 8.

Vijayawada Central TDP MLA Bonada Uma and his sons obstructed a rally by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and had hurling abuses and went on a rampage creating nuisance and disturbing the traffic in the city. The YSRCP election convoy under the leadership of a local industrialist Koganti Sathyam,a supporter of the YSRCP Vijayawada Central candidate Malladi Vishnu was touring the city at that time. Bonda Uma took to the mike and threatened Koganti and the YSRCP aides that he would kill them.

Last week Vijayawada police registered a case against him and his son in compliance with the orders of the state High Court. The Court orders came following a petition filed by a woman named Sumanasri, who accused the TDP MLA and his son for being responsible for her daughter Saisri's death, who died two years ago. Bonda Uma has been accused by locals of land-grabbing, involvement in sand mining and rowdyism and his sons are well known for their notorious and high handed behaviour in Vijayawada.
