Eluru: The District Election Officer and Collector Praveen Kumar had made a statement saying that more than 1,530 polling centers which have more than 1000 voters will get an extra staff member for the functioning of poll duty.

Many aspects of the April 11 polling especially the election security plan was given a thorough review. He later conducted a randomisation process, he said that out of the 3,417 polling centres in the district, 1,530 centers have a count of more than 1,000 voters.

All these centres will have five staff members, including presiding officers for discharging poll duties.

1,075 polling stations have been identified as critical polling stations. he reviewed security plans and staff necessary at the stations. The collector had ordered for the voter ID cards to be distributed at the earliest.

Returning officers should be extra careful in aspects of postal ballots, violation of poll code and expenditure of contesting candidates, Poll observers Dev Dutt Sarma, SK Dass, MJ Pradeep Chandran, Dr Jai Krishan and others were present.
