Kakinada: YSR Congress party Kakinada candidate Kurasala Kanna Babu was the victim of fake news propaganda, where fraudulent information and photographs were spread through social media about him. Morphed pictures of him distributing money to an old lady and being arrested by the police were reportedly being circulated on the net by Jana Sena Party members. Reacting to the images Kanna Babu said that since the past few days the Jana Sena party activists were engaged in spreading fake news about him on Social Media.He explained that some old photos of his were taken and morphed. Four months ago he had gone to Kurada village where he had helped a poor Dalit lady who fell down by giving her some money. Someone had taken a photograph which was misused by them to show him as if he was distributing money to her during campaign time.

In another photo where he is shown being arrested by the Police, Kanna Babu said that he was arrested during a protest for Special category Status in Nagamalli Thota Junction and this photo was shown as if it was taken recently. He clarified that this was all fake news and that the Jana Sena was trying to malign his image right before the elections through this false propaganda.

Kanna Babu filed a cyber crime complaint with Sarparam police station and sought stringent action against the Jana Sena activists who were creating this fake news.
