Visakhapatnam: Former Union Minister, BJP candidate for Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency, Daggubati Purandeswari on Saturday challenged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to answer her questions if he had the courage. She asked him whether had he not indulged in corrupt actions and, if he had not done anything wrong what was it that he feared, she questioned.

Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam on Saturday in a meeting attended by the sitting Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu and other BJP leaders, she scoffed at his slogan, Your Future Is My Responsibility and said that it was the opposite - His Future was their (people's) responsibility.

She called Chandrababu Naidu's desperate attempts to keep the Addl. DG Intelligence AB Venkateswara Rao out of the Central Election Commission purview and in trying to protect the state DGP RP Thakur and even the Chief Secretary as nothing but cheap politics.

She reminded him that during the 2009 elections when he was in the Opposition, it was Chandrababu who filed a complaint against the then DGP SSV Yadav to the Election Commission and had him removed.

Just because her husband D Venkateswara Rao was contesting as a YSRCP assembly candidate and that she was contesting as a BJP Lok Sabha candidate, Chandrababu was terming it as an unholy alliance. But what would one call the callous action when he had poached 23 of the YSRCP MLAs into the TDP and also gave four of them a berth in his ministry, she questioned strongly.

Would it possible for him to develop the state on his own without the Central government support and could he answer this question at least, Purandeswari asked Chandrababu. Not stopping there she dared the TDP government to publicise the schemes it implemented without the Centre’s participation before seeking votes.“ We are going to the people by declaring by what we have done, what we will do, what we achieved in Andhra Pradesh with the Centre’s support,” she said.
