Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he is ready to work with any party that will give Special Category Status (SCS) to the state.

Speaking to a leading news channel, YS Jagan said, "I would work with anybody, as long they give SCS and what was promised on the floor of Parliament." Special Category Status would mean that there would be an inflow of central funds to help the state government in its plan to develop the new capital Amaravati.

Jagan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed stronger will and did 'better', but as far as Andhra Pradesh is concerned, he did not deliver on the promises made to the state. Therefore, he will be 'portrayed as someone who betrayed the state, as also Rahul Gandhi'.

Meanwhile, in a recent public rally in Guntur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu, saying he has made a "U-turn" on promises of development to the state and only trying to replicate NDA government's schemes.

"Our government gave to Andhra Pradesh much more than what was mentioned in special status. CM of Andhra Pradesh acknowledged this package but took a U-turn as they failed to use the funds in the appropriate way and were not able to develop the state," Modi said.
