Kurnool: Contestants from the Kurnool Lok Sabha constituency have been haunted by the people of Kurnool, as there has been an acute water shortage problem that the leaders have neglected.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Candidate in the Srisailam constituency was questioned for completely neglecting the problem of drinking water storage over the past five years.

Budda Rajasekhar Reddy, who was hesitant to take up a fight there, was persuaded by the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

As the Srisailam Constituency comes from the fringes of Nallamalla and Atmakur town, they have peculiar problems like man-animal conflicts, forest encroachments, cases of wildlife abuses etc. These are things that the local leaders hardly could have a say about.

Adoni, Alur, Mantralayam, Yemmiganur constituencies faces labour migration like it is a routine, their drought conditions are being treated the same. The villages, on the border of Karnataka state, are more prone to vagaries of nature, said a TD leader.

Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy, the TD candidate for Kurnool Lok Sabha seat said that water woes of a majority of villages in Adoni, Alur, Yemmiganu would be solved once the Gundrevula reservoir is complete.

KE Krishnamurthy, as the Deputy Chief Minister made a lot of promises that have only remained on paper.

Veerappa, a resident of Thuggali said, “KE had promised that he would get KC canal water to western parts of the district but the promise did not move an inch.”
