New Delhi: The TDP government led by Chandrababu Naidu has faced yet another setback at the time of elections. The National Green Tribunal NGT fined the AP government Rs.100 crores for illegal sand mining near Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu‘s house on the banks of the river Krishna.

NGT took this decision based on a complaint by Pollution Control Boards of the state and Centre saying that 2500 trucks were being transporting sand illegally from the area after digging 25 m deep in the riverbed.

Similar complaints were also lodged by waterman Rajendra Singh and Anmol Gandhi. The National Green Tribunal which examined the case imposed a fine of Rs. 100 crores on the Andhra Pradesh government.

As per regulations, it fuck with 10 tires is supposed to carry a load of 21 tonnes, but 30 to 40 tonnes of sand were being loaded on to these drugs, the complaint said. The AP government winked at these activities transporting sand mined illegally to neighbouring districts and states.

After 11 pm, at a speed of 60-70 km these trucks race through the area and are tipped off about police checks by three cars which move in the area to inform drivers of police movements.

If officials or police authorities move about in the area to conduct search operations or checks, the trucks pull over quietly to Krishnapalem, Yarrabalem Cheruvu, Mandadam and Mandadam Bypass Road. They set out on their journey to the end point after the officials leave the area.
