Hyderabad: AgriGold Agents Customers Welfare Association President Viswanath Reddy criticised Chandrababu Naidu's callous attitude towards the AgriGold victims. He said that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had not done anything for their welfare until date.

Speaking to reporters at the YSR Congress Party(YSRCP) Central office yesterday in Hyderabad, Viswanath Reddy said that Chandrababu had released Rs 250 Crore for them, but not a single pie had been disbursed to the victims, he alleged.

A GO was also issued to this effect, but till date there were no signs of any payment made to the victims, he said. Viswanath told reporters that they had come to meet YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and bring the AgriGold issue to his notice.

Viswanath expressed his happiness that YS Jagan had promised to help the victims. He also said that YS Jagan had earlier promised to release Rs 1,183 Crore and help more that 13 lakh depositors who had fallen prey to the scam.

YS Jagan had also promised to take immediate legal action, against the AgriGold scam perpetuators and send them to jail when he elected to power, Viswanath said.

The depositors who invested Rs 5000 and Rs 10,000 should be taken care of as priority as they were the ones who were seriously aggrieved in this fraud.

Viswanath also clarified that there were four to five associations working on behalf of the AgriGold depositors spread over the state and the plan was to bring them all under one umbrella.

A Joint Action Committee (JAC) will also be formed to take up any matter with the government in future, he explained. Viswanath Reddy declared that all the AgriGold victims would support YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the upcoming elections as he was the one who was standing up for their rights.
