Kadapa:With elections in two weeks, Telugu Desam Party suffered a setback in YSR Kadapa district as senior leader Sai Prathap left TDP. He had been away from the party activities in the recent past. On Saturday, he announced his resignation. Apparently, Sai Prathap was unhappy over being denied the MP ticket.

Sai Prathap had represented the Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency for six terms in the past. He was made Union Minister in the reign of UPA and joined TDP in 2016 .

Talking to the media, the former MP said that he had joined TDP to resolve the issues of people of the area. He said he had submitted three letters to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on the problems in Rayalseema, but did not receive a reply from him.

Sai Prathap remarked that the three years spent in TDP felt like living in exile. Meanwhile, he was appointed as the parliament in charge of Rajampet but was never informed about the party activities in the constituency. Sai Prathap added that he had sought the Rajampeta LS ticket for his son-in-law Sai Lokesh.

The former TDP leader said that Chandrababu called him for a meeting to Amaravati and insulted him. Even after noticing his presence there, the TDP chief ignored him and left the place. Sai Prathap observed that the TDP has no morals. People, who do not possess money have no place in TDP, he added.

Everyone, who had defected to TDP had been cheated by Chandrababu. “It is because of his behaviour, I was mentally disturbed for the last one week or so. In TDP, people are looking for personal benefits.” Sai Prathap announced that he will spell out his future plans soon.
