Anantapur/Chittoor: Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan said that though he wanted to contest from Anantapur but couldn't muster the courage to contest as the local leaders didn’t give him enough  support . The JSP leader was touring Anantapur, YSR Kadapa and Chittoor districts on Thursday.

He vented his ire on Anantapur MLA Prabhakar Choudary and MP J C Diwakar Reddy. He alleged that they both were secretly filing tenders and making money, but were hardly concerned about the welfare of the people here. He asked as to how many locals had got jobs because of the KIA factory set up the ruling TDP government.

In a surprising turn he said that the TDP feared the YSR Congress Party and if the JSP was not there, the TDP had neither the strength nor guts to face them.

Pawan clarified that the reason for him not contesting from Anantapur was mainly because of the feudalistic attitude of the local leaders here, he said. It was not surprising that there were hardly any takers for Pawan Kalyan's rallies in Anantapur and YSR Kadapa districts which left him fuming against the local leaders and incited him to comment against the Rayalaseema leaders.

Though Pawan Kalyan has a strong fan base across the Telugu states, his charismatic effect on the people Rayalaseema seems to be restricted to his films and had no effect on his political pedigree.
