YSRCP Hindupur LS Candidate Gorantla Madhav Nomination Gets HC Nod

Anantapur: Former police official Gorantla Madhav, the YSR Congress Party's Lok Sabha candidate from Hindupur in Anantapur district has got a green signal from the Andhra Pradesh High Court to file his nomination papers, upholding the verdict of the Tribunal. Madhav went ahead and did so, following the court orders.

It may be recalled that the AP government had been stalling clearing Gorantla Madhav's VRS papers though he had applied more than 2 months ago. Madhav, who joined the YSRCP was given the Hindupur Lok Sabha ticket by party President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

However, the AP government began dilatory tactics on clearing Madhav's VRS papers to stall his nomination and the former police official was forced to seek relief from the Tribunal which awarded its verdict in his favour. The Tribunal held that it was not right to delay the VRS process for political reasons. The DIG Kurnool range, who was to implement the Tribunal, remained inaccessible. The AP government went to the High Court on the matter asking for a stay petition. The Court however, refused to stay the Tribunal verdict granting relief to the YSRCP Lok Sabha candidate for Hindupur. Gorantla Madhav and his wife Savita filed nominations as YSRCP Lok Sabha candidates from Hindupur.
