Srikakulam Lok Sabha constituency is part of the Srikakulam Vidhan Sabha in Andhra Pradesh.

As per the estimates of 2011 census, out of total 342325 population 45.43% is rural and 54.57% is urban. The Scheduled castes and Scheduled tribes ratio is 7.62 and 0.6, respectively out of the total population.

As per the voter list of 2018, there are 2,22,505 voters in the electorate and 262 polling stations in this constituency. Voter turnout in the 2014 assembly election 71.76% in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections.

The BJP, the INC, the YSRCP and the TDP got ???, 2.41%, 36.23% and 57.6% in 2014 Parliamentary Election respectively. Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu (TDP) is the present Lok Sabha MP of Srikakulam.

YSRCP MP candidate for the Srikakulam Lok Sabha constituency is Duvvada Srinivas, had earlier lost to Telugu Desam party candidate K Atchannaidu in the 2014 elections by just 8,387 votes is a strong contender in this place.

Srikakulam is a stronghold of the Kinjarapu family . The present MP Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu and his uncle Minister Atchannaidu are known to hold a sway in this region.

But there is widespread dissent among the people as they are indulging in large scale sand and granite mining and looting the place. It is reported that if anyone objects their atrocities they are being attacked and silenced.

Compared to them, Duvvada Srinivas is a common man who understands the people problems at the ground level . He has toured all the seven constituencies and has gained an edge over others during his previous election stints.

Srinivas belongs to the Kalinga caste and had joined politics at the behest of late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He worked as a ZPTC member and late become the Vice President. He had staged several protests against the Thermal Plant and received widespread appreciation for his work amongst the people.

Despite being targetted by the Kinjarapu family who had even gone to the extent of damaging his business, he continued to work relentlessly. YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given him another opportunity to contest for the Srikakulam ticket in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
