YSRCP leader-Narne Srinivasa Rao

Hyderabad: Prominent businessman and Jr NTR's father-in-law Narne Srinivasa Rao said that he had joined the YSR Congress Party only because of its party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Speaking to a Telugu media Channel, he said that joining the party was his own personal decision and Jr NTR had nothing to do with this decision. He also said that as a family we are together, but his political decisions were purely his own and it would not affect Jr NTR.

Talking about his role in Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the past, he clarified that he was never a part of the Telugu Desam Party. In 1999 when he expressed his interest in contesting, Chnadrbabau Naidu hadn't considered him and he went back to conducting his business ventures.

It is only in the past 6 years he was observing the developments of the state of Andhra Pradesh and felt that Chandrababu Naidu could do nothing for the state. In the interest of the state development and watching YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's commitment towards the state inspired him to join the YSRCP he said. Narne said that he knew about YS Jagan and there was a lot of difference between Chandrababu and YS Jagan. Chandrababu cannot develop the state but YS Jagan could do so the way Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy did, he said.

Talking about the development of Hyderabad, Narne said that the TDP chief was not the only Chief Minister who developed Hyderabad, there were other Chief Ministers who were also involved in its development. So to take credit for that is not correct, he said. Narne Srinivasa Rao said that in fact YS Rajasekhar Reddy did a lot for both the Telugu states when they were united. That is why he extended support to YS Jagan, added Narne.

When asked whether he would contest the elections, he clarified that he is was not interested in contesting and that he had joined the party because he say the way YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted himself. There was a sea of difference between YS Jagan's ideologies and the way N Chandrababu Naidu operated he said. He also said that he was shifting base to Andhra Pradesh and had already prepared ground work to start his campaigning. Narne said that he would spread the good message about YS Jagan among the people and ensure his victory in the Coming elections.

When asked if he would contest, he made it clear that was not interested in contesting. But if YS Jagan and the party asked him to contest from Mangalagiri, he said that he would definitely contest and defeat Nara Lokesh. He mentioned that Guntur was his home turf and that he was born there and would put 100% efforts and defeat Nara Lokesh from Mangalagri, if YS Jagan directed him to do so, he concluded.
