Speculations are being made that Former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal is all set to make a re-entry into active politics as he meets Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, on Tuesday.
It is learned that the meeting of both leaders lasted an hour. The buzz is that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wants him to contest from Narasaraopet parliamentary constituency after Kodela expressed his decision to not contest from the particular constituency.
However, the sitting MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao claims that he is very active in the politics and the constituency. Lagadapati left the place avoiding the media and Kodela told an English daily that it was a courtesy call.
Meanwhile, Lagadapati was with the Congress party till the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation took place. Later he announced his retirement from active politics. Since then it is reported that he has been in close association with the TDP supremo Chandrababu, but has not joined the party.
He recently faced criticism for his exit poll survey which predicted a win for the Congress-TDP alliance in the Telangana Assembly elections, when Telangana Rashtra Samithi secured a landslide victory.
