The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to investigate the data theft allegations against IT Grid India Pvt Limited, has also made some revelations about the voters’ data which was leaked. The leaked data contained voters’ details such as names, place, caste, and profession of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

ITGrids company, after receiving the data of the people of AP, had leaked it to TDP through the Seva Mitra App, which they used to find out who are unlikely to vote for TDP in the next Assembly election.

Inspector General of Police Stephen Ravindra, who is leading the SIT, said that apart from the AP data, IT Grid was also in illegal possession of data from the people of Telangana and the beneficiaries of AP government schemes.

The IG also said that they would also probe into the angle if any other company was involved in the crime, and find out who the key person was in this entire operation.

The data, which was compiled and sent, was allegedly used for deleting the names of voters in AP.

Three IT companies including IT Grids India Limited, Blue Frog and another which was not revealed by the IG, were involved in data collection from AP.

The IG said that IT Grids was also in illegal possession of data from the people of Telangana and the beneficiaries of Andhra Pradesh government schemes.
