Guntur: In a continuous spate of assaults against the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) cadre by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists in the state of Andhra Pradesh, another case of stone pelting on YSRCP leaders took place in Guntur district. The incident took place in Thondapi village of Muppalla Mandal on Sunday, where the local YSRCP workers were participating in a program called  'Ravali Jagan Kavali Jagan'.

As per reports they were conducting a rally peacefully near the Mandapala Center, when suddenly a group of TDP leaders and workers barged into the rally  and started pelting stones at the people. Caught unawares, the YSRCP workers started running and many of them were injured in the attack. YSRCP workers Jaan Bhasha, Subhani and Hussain were severely injured in the attack.

Seeing that Jaan Bhasha was bleeding, Narsaraopet Parliament Constituency Convenor  Sri Krishnadevarayalu suggested that the three of them be immediately shifted to the Sattenapally area hospital for treatment. It is being said a TDP leader identified as Hanumantha Rao is the main culprit responsible for this incident. A tense situation prevailed at the place and a police picket was set up to avoid any kind of untoward incidents till the situation is brought under control.
