Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's controversial allegations against PM Modi on the Pulwama terror attack seem to have landed him in trouble. The BJP led by former chief secretary, IYR Krishna Rao, among others have demanded that a suo moto case be registered against the AP chief minister.

In a memorandum submitted to the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, the BJP said that Chandrababu's distasteful comments were very sad and objectionable. It was highly irresponsible, undemocratic, unethical and anti-nationalistic on the part of the chief minister to make such remarks and allegations against Narendra Modi, regarding the attack on para-military forces at Lathpora, Pulwama district, J & K by the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist group while addressing his Telugu Desam leaders through video conference on Tuesday, February 19 2019, the BJP said in its memorandum. Addressing TD leaders, Mr Naidu stated that the misgivings expressed by West Bengal Chief Mini-ster Mamata Banerjee, who doubted the timing of the Pulwama attack and linked it with Narendra Modi as if it was his game plan, could not be ruled out, it said. The BJP added that Naidu not only endorsed the remarks and allegations of Mamata Banerjee but also remarked that Mr Modi would go to any extent for political mileage. "He referred to the Godhra incident in support of his remarks,” it further commented.

The former chief secretary said that such anti-nationalistic expressions will implant the seeds of disintegration among people and jeopardise national security." IYR Krishna Rao likened them to sedition and an attempt to disintegrate the country. Against this background the BJP demanded a suo moto case to be filed against Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.
