Chandrababu’s Childish Allegations Against YSRCP Reflect Insecurity

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu railed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described his visit to AP as a Black Day. He urged his partymen to release Black and Yellow coloured balloons into the air and also asked them to sport Black shirts as a mark of protest against the prime minister's visit. The AP chief minister claimed that PM Modi had betrayed the state by not honouring the commitments made at the time of bifurcation of the state. In his frustration, Chandrababu accused Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of remaining silent on PM Modi's visit to the state. His comment that the YSRCP welcomed PM Modi and was mobilising people for his visit only seemed to point to his frustration.

The TDP supremo seems to be overpowered by a fear of inevitable defeat in the upcoming elections. From indulging in mal-practices and manipulation of electoral rolls to cozying up to Opposition leaders in the hope that this would insulate him against any action for indulging in corrupt activities, Chandrababu Naidu has tried every trick in the book to survive and deceive the people of the state at the same time. His criticism of YSRCP claiming that it had not attended the state assembly to laughable to say the least because the chief minister undermined the opposition along with his Cabinet colleagues. The most undemocratic act on his part as chief minister was his open allurement of 23 YSRCP MLAs into the TDP fold, making four of them ministers. Equally absurd is his claim that the YSRCP was hampering the development of the state being undertaken by Chandrababu Naidu. If anything, the YSRCP chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has constantly highlighted large scale corruption in Amaravati, Polavaram and other irrigation projects, and a host of other scams in Andhra Pradesh.
