DWCRA Women Forced To Vote For TDP

Visakhapatnam: TDP leaders forced DWCRA women to take oath that they will vote for TDP in the coming elections. They even threatened to deny them the Rs 10,000 cheque, sari and an umbrella if they didn’t vote for the party.

This incident took place on Thursday in the evening at the Hanuman temple present in the 26 ward of Narsipatnam municipality. All the DWCRA women had assembled there to receive their Pasupu-Kunkuma cheques.

Then Roads and Buildings Minister of Andhra Pradesh Ayyanna Patrudu’s younger son Rajesh came to the location and made all the women take the oath in the presence of god that they will vote for the TDP under any circumstances, even if others pressurize them not to. Municipal councilor Pila Govind, former ward member Ruttala Tati made them recite the oath, as per reports.

Meanwhile on one hand, minister Ayynna Patrudu is making claims at the public meetings that the government has sanctioned only Rs 10,000 under Pauspu-Kunkuma and he is distributing the sari, with his personal money. On the other hand, his wife and both sons are distributing the saris in the constituency as the elections are approaching, it is learned.

The women, who had to take the oath later expressed their dissatisfaction over the incident and said they were at the temple thinking that they will get the cheque and sari but the minister’s son has made them take the oath in the presence of the god.
