Hyderabad: The specially constituted team headed by additional DCP Raghuveer to investigate the complaint lodged by daughter of former chief minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy and sister of YSR Congress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, YS Sharmila, regarding a campaign of slander and character assassination against her and her family members on social media, has made significant progress since the complaint was filed.

So far 60 of the slanderous YouTube Video links have been traced and the team is verifying the details of the channels which have uploaded them. Till Friday 15 people were identified and 5 of them were arrested by the Cyber Crime team. After interrogation they will be issued notices under Section 41 ( A) of the CrPC and declared as offenders. All of them belong to different places from the Telugu states of Andhra and Telangana who have settled in Hyderabad.

Five of them have their own YouTube channels and the police have informed that by Sunday they would be interrogating a few more of them. It is difficult to locate the actual offenders who are uploading and propagating such content because of these miscreants are spread over different locations , they said.

The Cyber Police have to locate the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses used to upload these videos on the Internet. The police have already sent a formal request to the YouTube management asking for these details.

The police said that apart from the 60 channels, those who have made malicious comments in the comments sections below the YouTube links will also be considered as offenders.

Excepting for the name of the YouTube channel there is no information given about those uploading this malicious content. YouTube management has to provide more details on these offenders, police said. A formal communication on behalf of the Cyber Police, seeking the details of the IDs, login particulars and IP addresses has already been sent to them. Once these details are acquired by the Police, it would become easy to catch the actual offenders, according to officials from the investigating team.
