Amaravati: Senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy questioned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's trips to the World Economic Forum sessions in Davos in Switzerland. In a Tweet he said that crores of rupees were being spent for the Davos trip by Chandrababu . He said that Chandrababu was never invited by the WEF as being claimed, but he paid a staggering $3.22 lakhs dollars, as delegate fees from government funds to attend the conference, apart from the chartered private planes that he takes to go to Switzerland along with his entourage.

Check out his Tweet:

In the past four trips Chandrababu has been claiming that he has signed MoUs with various International companies, but till date not a single company has entered the state.

-In the 2015 trip Chandrababu spoke about an understanding with Spain regarding a Bullet Train concept, Walmart DWACRA Tie - up for promoting the self- help group products, selling Konaseema Coconut water through Pepsico and setting up of a plant by Airbus for plane manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh, the Rajya Sabha member pointed out.

-In the 2016 trip he spoke about agreements with Lockheed Martin Corp- the world’s biggest defence contractor, for manufacturing Defence equipment, a mega textile park worth Rs 2000 Crores, an agreement to set up a mega IT campus in Viskahpatnam with Infosys.

-Vijayasai Reddy said that similarly, in the 2017 trip the AP chief minister spoke about agreements with Saudi Aramco oil refinery, starting Visa and MasterCard operations, and setting up a center for Hybrid Cloud technologies with the support of Microsoft.

-Last year in the 2018 trip, Chandrababu spoke about Hitachi operations and seeking support from Fran Hoffer for establishing companies in AP. He also spoke about setting up of MediTech Innovations Center spread over 2000 acres and a Cloud data center with Alibaba.

Meanwhile the Centre has reportedly asked Andhra Pradesh to cut down the size of the delegation led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and also limit the duration of the trip to four days and not seven as proposed by the state government to the upcoming World Economic Forum meet in Davos in Switzerland.

This year 2019 Chandrababu has given the trip a miss and his son the IT Minister Nara Lokesh will be heading the delegation which includes the state Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, six IAS officers and six other officers, including two chief security officers. The entire expenditure of the trip will be borne by the state government. It may be noted that the every year the AP government mentioned the outcome of the trip as negotiations and anticipated MoUs in their proposal letter to the Center while applying for the meet.

Till date there are no signs of any such agreements fructifying and neither has a brick been laid for these projects. All these Davos trips are nothing but a sham to empty the state treasury and hoodwink the people Vijaysai Reddy said.
