Additional DCP of Hyderabad Police, Raghuveer has asserted that the inquiry into the complaint lodged by YS Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy and sister of the Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on malicious character assassination targeting her on social media, is being speeded up. The senior police official remarked that cyber crime authorities had already taken note of objectionable content on certain Youtube channels and Facebook groups.

The special team constituted for this probe has sought the required information from Youtube and Facebook, he added. The police officer stated that action would be taken against those who made such objectionable videos as also those responsible for them.

The senior police official pointed out that three individuals had been arrested in the past and their involvement in the present case was being looked into. It may be recalled that YS Sharmila, along with her husband Bro. Anil Kumar, had met Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Monday, to lodge a complaint seeking action on those behind a slanderous campaign being conducted against her on social media.
