AP BJP MLA Manikyala Rao Resigns Over TDP Regime Failure

West Godavari: Andhra Pradesh BJP MLA representing Tadepalligudem, Pydikondala Manikyala Rao resigned from his membership of the assembly as an expression of his displeasure of the Chandrababu government's attitude.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, he also faulted the TDP governement for its failure to keep election promises. Manikyala Rao said that 56 promises made to the people of his constituency remained unfulfilled.

The BJP legislator also gave an ultimatum to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and sought his response in 15 days. He also expressed his resentment over Chandrababu Naidu's indifference towards solving the problems of the people of Tadepalligudem which he had been trying to highlight to him in person for over three months now.

"I will launch an indefinite protest fast if the chief minister does not respond after 15 days", he told media persons. Manikyala Rao added that he felt ashamed to be a part of such a state assembly.

Addressing chief minister Chandrababu Naidu he said that it was clear that he was discriminating against Tadepalligudem only because there was no TDP there. "You can have me out of your way and fulfill the promises made to the people. Please forward my resignation to the Speaker", he concluded.
