Eluru: YSR Congress party has appointed a committee to study the current position of BCs in the state and the issues to be addressed pertaining to the community. Speaking at a meeting organised here at Sukhibhava function hall in Eluru, YSR Congress party BC cell president Janga Krishna Murthy and Eluru YSRCP parliamentary president MLC Alla Nani said “Governments in the past saw BCs as just a vote bank, now the time has come for all the BCs in the state to unite for their rights."

YSRCP BC in charge to the district, Ghanta Prasada Rao presided over the meeting. To begin with, Janga Krishna Murthy and Alla Nani garlanded the picture of Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule. Many people from the community turned up at the meeting and expressed their opinions and concerns. Few of them submitted memorandums to the members. BC cell president Janga Krishan Murthy said they are doing an in-depth study on how to improve the condition of the community and how to utilize the opportunities provided to them. How to get the rights granted by the constitution to the BC community.

BCs account 54% of the population, but the governments have been neglecting them. It was under the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s reign that the community saw welfare programs for them and no leader since then has cared for the community. Chandrababu has no moral right to talk about the community. YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to implement policies for uplifting the status of the community. YSRCP is ready to provide the needs of the community in all the sectors, he added.

MLC Alla Nani said “YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is a man with integrity and honesty. Once in power, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to work for the betterment of the community. Under the current TDP government, BCs are facing many difficulties and YSRCP is standing by them at a given point of time."
