Kakinada: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Somu Veerraju announced that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu incurred an additional debt of Rs 1.34 lakh crore to the State whereas the debt was Rs 96,000 crore at the time of State bifurcation. He asked why the ground water level did not improve after the implementation of the Neeru-Chettu scheme at a cost of Rs 15,000 crore. Why is it that the State went through a drought even after the scheme was introduced? he said.

Somu Veerraju said Chandrababu was a pioneer in corruption and cheap politics. Chandrababu is nothing but a power-hungry politician without any ideological bent, he added.

"Chandrababu is suffering from a phobia since 2014. He realized that the TDP will lose deposits if any party joins hands with the BJP. Despite befriending us in the four years in alliance, Chandrababu encouraged actor Sivaji and Chalasani Srinivas," he revealed.

The BJP leader further said Chandrababu wouldn't hesitate to play down anyone who protests against him in the State. On the flip side, the TDP chief is conducting the 'Dharma Porata Deeksha' meetings across 13 districts officially by spending public money.

Chandrababu is claiming to be fighting for the Special Category Status (SCS), after jailing anyone who protested for the Status, he added.
