The Chandrababu-led TDP government's efforts to crush the YSR Congress party politically, have reached an all-time high, as seen from the notices served to senior opposition leader, Jogi Ramesh. He was summoned by the Arundalpet police in Guntur, on Tuesday and subject to prolonged questioning.

TDP's Varla Ramaiah lodged a complaint against Jogi Ramesh on October 28, with respect to statements made by the senior YSRCP leader about the attacker after the cowardly attack on the life of Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSR Congress party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25.

In compliance with the notices issued by the Arundalpet police, Jogi Ramesh presented himself for questioning. He was accompanied by senior party leaders Ambati Rambabu, K. Parthasaradhi, Ravi Venkataramana, Malladi Vishnu, Velampalli Srinivas, Kilari Venkata Rosaiah and others. They met DCP (West) Soumyalatha and additional SP, Y.T. Naidu.

Later, Jogi Ramesh was questioned separately for 5 hours from 12.40 pm to 5.40 pm, in the presence of members of the legal cell of YSR Congress party, Poluri Venkat Reddy and advocate Pokarla Venkateswarulu. The senior YSRCP leader was asked to present himself for questioning again on November 15.

Meanwhile, YSR Congress party workers staged a protest in front of the Arundalpet police station here. They raised slogans against the illegal cases being foisted by the Chandrababu Naidu government on YSRCP leaders. They also protested against the behaviour of the police after additional SP, Y.T. Naidu, came to the media meet being addressed by Shaik Mohammad Mustafa, MLA representing Guntur (East). The reporters, as well as the MLA were pushed and shoved leading to a protest by YSRCP leaders and workers.

Addressing reporters, Jogi Ramesh said that the people of the state would teach Chandrbabu Naidu a fitting lesson at the hustings. He said YSR Congress party leaders would not be cowed down by threats and intimidation. The citizens of Andhra Pradesh were ready to consign Narakasura to his rightful place and end his tyrannical rule, he said. Jogi Ramesh blamed Chandrababu Naidu for deteriorating state of law and order in AP.
