YS Jagan Attack: Writ Petition For CBI Enquiry Filed At High Court

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress party has approached the Hyderabad High Court seeking a CBI inquiry into the attack on its party Chief and AP Leader of Opposition, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Visakhapatnam airport yesterday.

Senior YSRCP leader and former MP YV Subba Reddy filed a writ petition in the court to this effect. The YSRCP members cast their doubts over Andhra Pradesh police and said that they had no faith in their half-hearted approach in conducting the probe.

This petition was filed after examining the statements made by the heads of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Andhra Pradesh Police, where both of them disowned responsibility for the security lapse in the attack on the life of the YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Governor of both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, ESL Narasimhan responded immediately after the attack and sought a report from the DGP of Andhra Pradesh, RP Thakur.

A lunch motion (urgent) petition for a probe by a central agency was also filed to speed up the writ.
