The AP Chief Minister ChandraBabu Naidu is said to have decided to withdraw security provided to income-tax sleuths who have been conducting IT raids across the state in the past few days. This decision was reportedly taken after holding an emergency Cabinet meeting at the state capital Amaravathi.

Terming the raids as political vendetta by the Central Government, the Chief Minister and the Cabinet condemned the IT searches calling them unwarranted. Chandrababu also apprised the Ministers and other state officials of the raids and counselled them to brace themselves for more such politically motivated attacks by the Centre in the coming months. Chandrababu is reported to have said that the raids have caused a lot of damage to the State reputation. The Centre as part of its political vendetta will go to any extent to hurt the State sentiments in the coming elections, he wants his colleagues to say.

N. Chandrababu Naidu reportedly criticized the Centre vehemently saying that it has been working in a vindictive manner and is trying to take over the state electricity boards from other states. As part of the Cabinet decision, the State Government is reportedly withdrawing security provided to the IT sleuths and if need be the Government will not hesitate to approach the Supreme Court with regard to upholding Center-State relations and has directed the State Law Secretary to look into the constitutionality of this matter.
